Working Parties and Fishery Improvement projects

The Wylye Fly Fishing Club is focussed on improving the habitat that we fish and monitoring for its health.  We have regular working parties during the season which are staffed by volunteer members but some are occasionally run in conjunction with groups such as the Environment Agency and Wessex Rivers Trust, these are aided by the Angling Trust’s Fisheries Improvement Program (FIP).  The club have been active members of the Wessex Chalk Stream Project. They’ve also reached out beyond the angling world to join forces with the Wiltshire Wildlife Trust.

Working Parties on the Wylye

We have an active group of Volunteers who enjoy working on the river; this allows us to keep our membership fees very competitive by having part time keepers.   The volunteers assist the keepers for stocking activities and other river projects.

The club are especially keen to find members who are prepared to roll their sleeves up and wade in, its a great way to meet other club members and get to know the beats better !!
